Elemi oil is extracted from the resin of the elemi tree, which belongs to the plant family of Burseraceae. This oil is clear with a slight tinge of yellow colour. It has a thin consistency with a medium aroma strength. It has a unique fresh, spicy, peppery, resinous, and citrusy smell. Elemi oil is used is aromatherapy and as a food additive. This oil is packed with many medicinal properties and aids health conditions like chronic coughs, fatigue, wounds, cuts, skin infections, stress, and respiratory tract infections.
