Produced by the hop plant Humulus lupulus, hops are flowers that belong to the family of Cannabaceae. Native to North America, South America, and Eurasia, hops are in use for more than 1,200 years. This herbaceous perennial plant is long living and grows up to a height of around 26 feet. Hops are primarily used to flavour, stabilize, and bitter beer. They also impart a citrus, fruity, and floral aroma when added to any food or beverage.  Hops also aid in promoting healthy liver functions and cleansing the blood.
