Irish moss or Pearl moss is a type of seaweed mostly grown in regions like Atlantic Canada, France, and Ireland. It is in the Gingartinaceae family and native to Central Europe. The seaweed is used as a stabilizing agent in processed foods. Gelatin for drinks, lotions, moisturisers are prepared using Irish moss. Its anti-viral properties reduce cough and cold symptoms.
