The papaya, papaw, or pawpaw is the plant Carica papaya, one of the 22 accepted species in the genus Carica of the family of Caricaceae. Its origin is in the tropics of the Americas, perhaps from Central America and southern Mexico. Papaya is delicious and filled with enormous nutrients. Green papayas have a higher potassium level than ripe papayas. Hence, it promotes ion exchange within the body cells. In addition, it contains a higher amount of papain (a digestive enzyme) compared to ripe papaya. 
Ripe papaya powder is rich in antioxidants and can help neutralize free radicals in our bodies. It is good for heart health as it is rich in lycopene and vitamin C. In addition, it promotes digestion and gives relaxation from inflammation. It is also an ideal remedy for constipation and irritable bowel syndrome.
