Native to Central America and Mexico, pumpkin is rich in vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin E, Iron, Manganese, Magnesium, phytosterols, and Phosphorous. The primary active components in pumpkin are polysaccharides, para-aminobenzoic acid, fixed oils, sterol, proteins, and peptides. The presence of carotenoids gives pumpkin pulp its yellow colour.
