The bilberry plant produces berries that are similar to that of the American blueberry. These small blue berries are native to Northern Europe. The dried leaves and fruits of the bilberry plant are used for making medicines. Bilberry is packed with a chemical known as tannins that can aid a number of health conditions, such as high cholesterol levels, diarrhoea, and inflammation. These berries also have a rich content of water, vitamin C, vitamin K, fibre, and manganese.
